Loch Garten   Spey Cottage

‘Spey Cottage’ is situated within the village of Boat of Garten close to the river Spey and offers fine views to the Cairngorm
mountains.
Boat of Garten, famous as home of the Ospreys, also has the steam Strathspey railway and a beautifully laid out, extremely
scenic 18 hole golf course.
Two Hotels, a post office and a general provisions store can be found in the village while the main shopping centre in the
area is Aviemore (approx. 6 miles distant).
The Boat of Garten Steam Railway runs from Boat of Garten to Aviemore and is a unique reminder of days now gone.
Internationally famous, Aviemore also has first class hotels, fine restaurants, an ice rink and dry ski slope, cinema/theatre,
go-karting and discotheques.
Children are well catered for by the Landmark outdoor centre, Coylumbridge indoor and outdoor play area, Santa Claus land
containing Legoland, animal farm, extensive indoor soft play and outdoor play areas etc
The cottage is ideally located to access the majestic west and east Highlands as well the tranquil beauty of Perthshire
while Strathspey itself offers a wide variety of outdoor pursuits.
These include sailing and wind surfing at the Loch Insh Water Sports Centre and Loch Morlich as well as pony trekking,
horse riding, hill walking, tennis and skiing on the nearby Cairngorm mountain slopes.
Golfers will also enjoy the golf courses at Grantown-on-Spey, Carrbridge and Nethybridge while anglers will delight in the
salmon and trout fishing on the river Spey.
There are also many small lochs offering trout fishing, some of which have boats for hire by the day or evening.
