"Quinag Chalet" is a modern cedar clad bungalow standing on an elevated site overlooking an Island studded sea loch,
with the mountains of Quinag, Foinaven and Arkle dominating the background.
Culkein, Drumbeg is about 14 miles along the coast road from Lochinver in West Sutherland and is one of 13 crofting townships
on North Assynt Estate which was the subject of a successful community campaign to buy their land, the first such venture since
the notorious Clearances when thousands of Highland people were evicted by the Duke of Sutherland.
The Estate comprises 21,132 acres of spectacular beauty and variety containing an abundance of wild life and a world famous coastline which includes 'the Old Man of Stoer'.
Fishing is available on numerous trout lochs, fishing permits being sold at very reasonable rates by the Assynt Crofter's Trust.  Those wishing to improve their angling skills can do so at the nearby Angling School.
Deer stalking is available and can be arranged in season.
