Talmine Harbour   The Long House 152 Skinnet

A former croft, "The Long House" has been tastefully modernised, has double glazing throughout and overlooks the beautiful
Kyle of Tongue.
The Kyle is crossed by a causeway that offers spectacular views of the surrounding area and Ben Loyal.
Talmine is a crofting village giving superb views to the Rabbit Islands.
To the east lie the splendid clean beaches of Coldbackie.
There are hundreds of miles of rugged coastline and mountains without equal in northern Europe in this unspoiled area of
the Highlands.
Here you will find clean sandy beaches, rocky coves and an abundance of wildlife making it an ideal location for hill and coastal
walking.
Porpoises, seals and occasionally minke whales can be seen around the Rabbit Islands.
Bird life commonly encountered include puffins, guillemots, gannets and skuas.
The many local lochs provide the angler with good sport and fishing permits can be obtained locally.
The golfer will enjoy the local 9 hole course at Durness which is the most northerly course on the British mainland.
Boat trips to the seal colonies, islands and for sea fishing are available daily (weather permitting).
Pony trekking and hill walking on Ben Loyal and Ben Hope are popular with many visitors to the area.
Not far from Talmine is the largest limestone cave in Scotland. Archaeological digs have shown the cave has been used
for living and fishing for thousands of years. Conducted tours are available.
The property is ideally located for those wishing to tour the east and west Highlands.
