Teanassie Cottages (Friendly Deer)   Teanassie Holiday Cottages

"Teanassie Holiday Cottages" are located in 15 acres of former deer park just off the A831 and close to the village
of Beauly.
The magnificent Glens Affric, Cannich and Strathfarrar are a short drive away.
Recently converted, these traditional Scottish cottages are tastefully furnished and equipped to provide every
comfort for your self catering holiday.
There is an abundance of wild life which can be enjoyed while walking among peaceful tranquil surroundings.

Beauly village, winner of Scotland in Bloom and Best Kept Village Awards is 4 miles from the cottages.
The village has shops, restaurants, takeaways, three hotel bars, petrol station and has evening pipe band displays
in summer.

The area provides ample opportunity to enjoy river and loch fishing as well as walking and hill walking activities.
Salmon fishing, closeby in the River Beauly, can easily be arranged by advanced booking of day or weekly permits
through the village fishing tackle shop.
Many lochs in the area provide boat or bank fishing for brown or rainbow trout.

Golfers will enjoy the 9 hole course beside the River Beauly just 5 minutesfrom the property.
There are many excellent 18 hole courses within easy reach at Muir of Ord, Strathpeffer, Inverness and a links
course at Rosemarkie.

Other outdoor activities available include walking, birdwatching and riding.

There is much of interest in the area. The City of Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, and only only 14 miles from
Cluanie Park, has old streets and an imposing castle to explore, a bright new shoping centre and full indoor sports
facilities including a swimming pool.
.
The Moray Firth to the east of Inverness is famed for its dolphins and dolphin watching boat trips are widely
available in the area.

A visit to Loch Ness (13 miles from Beauly) and the village of Drumnadrochit with its Loch Ness Monster Centre is
high on the list of visitors to the area. Close to Drumnadrochit is the magnificent ruins of Urquhart Castle from
where there are excellent views of Loch Ness.

To the east of Inverness is the formidable fortress of Fort George where visitors can enjoy the military museum.
South of Fort George is Culloden Battlefield where there is a visitor center complete with audio/visual displays.

The Battle of Culloden took place on 16 April 1746 on this moorland site, about 6 miles east of Inverness,
a spot now marked by memorials to those who died and by marker boards explaining the course of the battle.
Culloden marked the final victory of George II's troops over Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Close to Culloden Battlefield is the prehistoric Clava Cairns site and Cawdor Castle.

Cawdor Castle is a fairy-tale assemblage of pinnacles, crenellations, and dungeons, built around a 1372 tower
during the succeeding three centuries. Cawdor Castle is full of treasures: tapestries, paintings by the 18th-century
portraitists George Romney, Sir Thomas Lawrence, and Sir Joshua Reynolds, opulent furniture, and a Victorian
kitchen.
Beautiful grounds include a walled garden with a maze, nature trails, a picnic area, and a 9-hole golf course.

T
o the northeast of Beauly, Cromarty Courthouse, Cromarty (25 miles) is worthy of a visit.
The Courthouse was built in 1773, when commercial activity in the town had reached a peak, and is notable
among the many fine Georgian buildings that have survived here.
Today it is a visitor centre with animated period figures, a reconstructed trial, prison cells, and plenty of
background information about its role when Cromarty was a thriving burgh.

With so much to do and see, it is little wonder so many enjoy a holiday in this area year after year.
