View over 'Bealach'   'Bealach', Diabaig

'Bealach' is a recently refurbished cottage offering comfortable accommodation in an area of spectacular beauty.
Standing in its own enclosed garden it has magnificent views over Loch Diabaig to the distant Isle of Skye.
Diabaig is a small fishing and crofting village set just above sea level overlooking the Torridon Mountains.
It is 8 miles west of Torridon where there is a shop, hotel and restaurant.

The location offers unlimited scope to those whose interests lie in climbing, walking and hill walking.
The area is an excellent base for everything from gentle, low level walks, through spectacular hillwalking to strenuous and
demanding climbing on both mountain and rock.
Here to is to be found an abundance of wild life. Seals, otters and red deer are regularly seen and many unusual birds visit
the area or reside here all year round. These include eagles, buzzards, black-throated divers, gannet and tern.
The magnificent surroundings will inspire the landscape/seascape painter and photographer alike.

Many who visit the area year after year refer to it as Scotland's best kept secret.
It is indeed true that this is probably the last unspoiled area in Europe. Many roads in the area are single track.
Although narrow they are well surfaced and passing places are provided.
Those seeking an 'away from it all' holiday will find a relaxing peace in truly majestic surroundings.
Its close proximity to the sea makes this an ideal location for fishing or sailing. Local boat-hire is also available.
There is permit-free fishing for brown trout on the hill lochs. Permits can be obtained for salmon fishing on the local rivers.
There are golf courses in Lochcarron and Gairloch which is also famed for its beautiful clean sandy beaches.

Diabaig is approximately one hours drive from Inverness. The Isle of Skye is reached by car in an hour and a half.
Well worthy of a visit are Applecross, Glenelg with its well-preserved brochs, Inverewe Gardens and the fishing village of
Ullapool with its ferry link to Stornoway.
