'The Sheiling' is situated in the hamlet of Achgarve near Laide amongst beautiful hills with distant views across to the high
mountains of An Teallach.
In this peaceful and genuine West Coast community you can are assured of a warm highland welcome.

There are numerous walks to suit everyone, including hill climbing.
The area abounds with wildlife, seals, otters, and deer frequently encountered as well as a myriad of sea birds.
Trout and sea fishing are available in the area.
There are clean sandy beaches are nearby for those who want a more relaxing holiday.
There is a local licensed store, post office and petrol at the village of Laide (1.5 miles).

The village of Aultbea is just 4 miles south and has 2 hotels, a Mace store, butchers, post office & health centre.

The world famous Inverewe Gardens at Poolewe are just 5 miles south where there is also an indoor swimming pool.

The village of Gairloch, a further 15 miles south has many shops, hotels and restaurants, museum and a 9 hole golf course.

High on the agenda of most holidaymakers to the area is a visit to Ullapool.
Founded by the British Fishery Society in 1786, Ullapool is located amid spectacular scenery and is the largest village on
the north-western seaboard.
A popular tourist centre, Ullapool is a Western Isles (Stornoway) ferry port and has two museums (the Lochbroom Museum
and the Ullapool Museum) and a pottery.
To the north, there are attractive touring options through the mountains of the Inverpolly Nature Reserve to Achiltibuie or
Lochinver.
Closer to Ullapool, the Falls of Measach plunge into the Corrieshalloch Gorge, 60 metres (200 feet) deep.
A suspension bridge offers fine views of the falls.
Fishing and sightseeing trips are available during the summer season from the harbour.

The area is equally suited to those seeking a relaxing 'away from it all' holiday and those who enjoy a more active holiday.
Outdoor pursuits that may be enjoyed include golf, hill walking, climbing, river and loch fishing, cycling, mountain biking,
water-sports including sailing, water-skiing, canoeing and windsurfing.

Those wishing to tour and explore the region further will enjoy a visit to the Highland Capital - Inverness (approx 80 miles),
while 14 miles south of Inverness is the Loch Ness Monster Centre at Drumnadrochit and the ruins of Glenurquhart Castle.
Cruises on Loch Ness are available from the Caledonian Canal Basin.
