Blackwood is a working croft situated in a quiet rural position within the Arinackaig Estate, approximately 1 mile
east of the small community of Strathcarron. The property is approached via a very quiet side road which serves
just a very small handful of scattered houses.

The holiday accommodation is a completely self-contained purpose-built 2-bedroom apartment on the upper
floor of a modern croft house. The accommodation is all on one floor and has its own front door, separate from
the entrance to the remainder of the house. The property is modern in design, light, airy, and spacious, and is
finished to a high standard. There is ample off-road parking space, and there are superb panoramic views from
the windows.

Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Strathcarron is close to the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands, some 63 miles west of Inverness, just at the
head of Loch Carron. It is an excellent base for touring the North West Highlands, with places such as Plockton,
Applecross (with its famous high-level approach via the Bealach na Ba), Shieldaig, Torridon, and Skye, all being
within easy reach.

There are many good walks in the area to suit all tastes and abilities, ranging from gentle strolls to more serious
hill-walking. There are several Munro's in the vicinity, and a number of long-distance walks starting from Glen
Carron just a short distance to the east.

River, loch, and sea fishing are all available locally, and Lochcarron, just 4 miles away, has a slipway for launching
boats, together with a number of visitor moorings.

There is a golf course just half a mile to the east of Lochcarron village, to which visitors are welcome. The course
is on the shores of Loch Carron in a lovely setting with superb views south across the loch. Make sure you take
your camera!

Strathcarron village is just 1 mile to the west of Blackwood and has a Post Office/Store where you can access e-mail,
an IT centre, and a hotel which is open to non-residents and which serves bar meals. For those who enjoy a gentle
stroll to the pub on a summer's evening, the Strathcarron Hotel is within 20 minutes' very easy walking distance of
the apartment.

Lochcarron village is 4 miles away and has all necessary local amenities, with hotels, bars, restaurants, garages,
filling stations, food shops, post office, and a bank (with Cashpoint).
